Developing strategic leaders at scale
Wealth management firm, London
Modular leadership programme for senior leaders
The need
The client was undergoing a period of change and needed its senior leaders to step up with greater clarity, confidence, and consistency. The goal was to help them lead more effectively through uncertainty and support a shift in the company’s culture.
Our approach
We delivered a six-month leadership programme built around three themes: leading self, leading others, and leading the business. The sessions covered practical topics such as emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and decision-making in complex situations. The programme included workshops, peer learning, one-to-one coaching, and real-time business challenges to help leaders apply what they learned directly to their roles.
Results
The programme is now a regular part of the company’s leadership development. Leaders reported feeling more confident, working better across teams, and making clearer decisions. The shift in leadership behaviour has played a key role in the company’s ongoing cultural change.
“HEX delivered a programme that was both thought-provoking and practical. Our leaders are now better equipped to navigate change and lead with purpose. It’s made a real difference to how we operate.”

Coaching for C-suite impact
Hospitality and entertainment firm, London
Six-month executive coaching assignment
The need
A newly appointed Chief Commercial Officer needed support to settle into the role, build strong relationships across the business, and lead improvements in a fast-moving, low-margin environment.
Our approach
We worked with the CCO over six months through regular coaching sessions. The focus was on building confidence, improving communication with key stakeholders, and sharpening their leadership approach. We used feedback, reflection, and practical tools to help the CCO lead more effectively in a demanding role.
Results
The CCO built strong working relationships across the business, led a major service improvement project, and gained recognition from both the CEO and private equity investors. The coaching helped them grow into the role and lead with greater impact.
“HEX provided a space for deep reflection and challenge. The coaching helped me clarify my leadership style and build the confidence to lead with impact across the organisation.”

Aligning executive teams for transformation
FMCG firm, Midlands
Nine-month executive team coaching
The need
The executive team was struggling to work as a unit during a major digital transformation. Decisions were being made in silos, and there was no clear, shared direction.
Our approach
We ran a nine-month team coaching programme that included diagnostics, offsite sessions, and regular coaching. We helped the team build trust, agree on a shared direction, and improve how they made decisions together. The sessions were practical and focused on real business challenges.
Results
The team came away with a clearer vision, stronger working relationships, and a more joined-up approach to leadership. They successfully launched a new digital strategy with strong support from across the business.
“HEX helped us shift from a group of individuals to a truly cohesive leadership team. Their approach was insightful, challenging, and grounded in real-world impact.”

An effective executive team
UK wealth management firm
The need
Our client, a listed wealth management firm based in London, required support to increase trust, communication, and effectiveness within their executive team as they balanced ongoing operational performance with a complex programme of transformation.
Our approach
Working with the Chief Executive, we spent time asking incisive questions to understand the root cause of the team’s difficulties. After discovering a team of highly talented and capable individuals who lacked trust and collaboration and instead relied on assumptions and unhelpful coping behaviours, we spent time with the team both individually and collectively over several months. Our interventions included individual coaching, psychometrics (in particular, the Hogan suite of assessments), and team coaching, during which we identified and shared strengths and derailers, worked on purpose and trust, and improved communication and ways of working.
Results
The team has now developed an effective working rhythm and has built a level of trust enabling them to engage in productive challenge to resolve issues and bring out innovation. With this trust, they are now able to collaborate effectively to act as one team, utilising their unique individual strengths to drive high performance as a collective. Ongoing individual coaching is ensuring that personal development remains top of the agenda.
“HEX worked with us over an extended period, building a detailed understanding of us as individuals and collectively, and supporting us to keep pushing ourselves into the uncomfortable conversations we needed to move forward. Tom created a safe but challenging environment which enabled us to overcome barriers and drive our performance effectively.”

A culture of performance and inclusivity
National law firm
The need
Our client, a national law firm based in the North West of England, wanted to diagnose the strengths and development areas of their culture, and devise an action plan to make it more inclusive and high performing.
Our approach
We undertook interviews with the CEO, executive leaders, and other diverse groups across the organisation. We reviewed policies and procedures, examined the recruitment, performance management, talent management, and promotions approaches to check their simplicity and inclusivity. We worked closely with key stakeholders such as employee resource groups and the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion group to take a true temperature check. From our research, we provided a set of recommendations and tangible actions to take the work forward.
Results
Our client has implemented several of the actions and is seeing an improvement in retention of talent and client advocacy. One of the recommendations was to undertake development interventions with people leaders, with a focus on driving performance in an inclusive way. HEX is now supporting this development.
“HEX understood our needs, challenged us in our thinking, and delivered deep insights and creative, practical, actions to help us become more inclusive and perform to our full potential”

Turning strategy into action through storytelling
Global insurer
The need
Our client, a global insurance firm based in London, needed to engage its workforce with a complex transformation programme and encourage their buy-in and support.
Our approach
We worked with the senior team to understand the messaging and then helped them develop storytelling skills to bring the story to life. We used models like Simon Sinek’s golden circle, fast followership, and the power of three to help them build compelling stories that connected with the emotions and encouraged active advocacy and change. Finally, we helped them to prepare for an all-staff town hall, working on perfecting their message while being authentic and true to their values.
Results
Our client is now well into the transformation programme. After a successful launch event, they are now putting their storytelling skills into practice. They’re focussing on communicating little and often, using their new expertise to share their message in a variety of ways, and most importantly being open and authentic.
“HEX worked with us in a fast-paced and engaging way which immersed us in the subject matter, gave us the confidence to be creative and try new things, and take our transformation programme forward with both empathy and pace”
