About HEX
At HEX, we believe that people are the heart of every high-performing organisation. We’re a people performance consultancy that works with leaders, teams, and HR professionals to create lasting impact through leadership development, executive coaching, HR consultancy, and culture transformation.
Founded by Tom Emery, HEX brings real-world experience from senior and c-suite roles across multiple industries, combining strategic insight with a deep understanding of people dynamics. We challenge assumptions, shift mindsets, and equip individuals and teams with the skills, confidence, and resilience to thrive in complex environments.
We work with teams and individuals across a wide range of industries, from financial services, retail, and leisure to legal, charity, public sector, plus utilities, entertainment, hospitality, and transport. Tom Emery

I’m a consultant, executive coach, team coach, author, speaker, and podcast host. I’m passionate about helping people to reach their full potential in life and work. I’ve always loved supporting others, and have a deep curiosity about what makes people tick.
I cut my teeth in fast-moving environments such as retail and call centres before experiencing the branch network, digital, technology, HR operations, and transformation areas of a multinational bank. As Chief People Officer of an ambitious, listed FS business, I learned what it’s like to be part of the c-suite with responsibility for shaping culture and delivering a complex people agenda.
I am a qualified executive coach and am accredited to use several psychometric tools, including the Hogan suite of assessments. I’m also experienced in systemic team coaching.
My approach is flexible – I’m high energy when needed but also create a safe space in my executive coaching sessions to go deep and help our clients move forward with confidence. My varied experiences have made me agile and adaptable in how to get the best from every person and situation.
My first book, People People: Reach Your Full Potential as a Chief HR Officer, was released in March 2025 and has quickly become the go-to manual for both established and aspiring HR leaders.

I’m a qualified executive and team coach, facilitator, and organisational culture consultant with over 30 years’ experience in international HR. I work closely with boards and senior leaders as a trusted advisor during times of change, helping them reflect, adapt, and lead with clarity and impact.
My coaching style is grounded, respectful and honest. I create space for leaders to think deeply, receive candid feedback, and build resilience. I also coach teams to strengthen their leadership capability and collaboration.
As a specialist in cultural audits and behavioural risk, I use proven methodologies to help organisations define their culture, uncover risks, and shift towards a healthier, more sustainable future.
I’ve worked globally across financial services, law, education, healthcare, publishing, and the public sector. I’m a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, a Meyler Campbell Coaching in Business graduate, and a qualified facilitator.
Outside of work, I’m a keen skier and amateur rower.

I’m a highly accredited coach, with over a decade of senior leadership experience within the Financial Services sector. I specialise in leadership and team development, combining my commercial and coaching experience to deliver outstanding client outcomes.
I trained in executive coaching with Henley Business School, an internationally renowned coaching institution. This qualification is underpinned by a degree in Management Science from Manchester Business School.
I am both an EMCC Accredited Coach at Senior Practitioner level and an ICF Associate Certified Coach, subscribing to their code of ethics. These coaching credentials are complemented by my experience working as a senior leader with Barclays Corporate & Investment bank.
All work I undertake is bespoke to the client and my approach is to prioritise the creation of a close thinking partnership. I take great pride in helping my clients unlock their potential for their own and their organisation’s lasting benefit. I am experienced in working with senior executives and leadership teams who are looking to fulfil their maximum potential.
My style is calm and supportive but effective at generating independent challenge. Through the application of active listening and maintaining presence, I embody a clear coaching mindset which helps my clients achieve meaningful change.

Louisa Fryer

I help leaders connect to their inner world and wellbeing so they can lead with clarity, energy, and resilience.
I’m an EMCC-accredited Executive Coach specialising in emotions and leadership development. I bring over 20 years of experience in L&D, leadership, and cultural transformation, with a natural flair for learning design and facilitation. I’ve led leadership and talent initiatives at brands like TKMaxx, ASOS, The Body Shop, TalkTalk, and Restore plc.
Now working independently, I partner with clients in healthcare, telecoms, retail, and finance, designing and delivering leadership programmes and learning experiences that are both pragmatic and deeply transformative.
I trained as an Executive Coach with In Good Company, completing their ILM Level 7 qualification and Emotions Coaching Practitioner programme. I’m also a qualified Insights Discovery practitioner and have developed a practical, intuitive approach to delivering it for teams and in a 1:1 coaching environment.
In addition, I’m a sober coach and clinical hypnotherapist.
People describe me as warm, creative, and insightful – blending strategic thinking with deep intuition. Whether coaching in a boardroom, leading a workshop, or working one-to-one, I care about creating human, meaningful, and lasting change, guiding leaders to reconnect with their inner source of power and potential.
Linda Bell

I have over 30 years’ experience of working in people functions. During that time I have experienced significant change in the way in which HR functions have been regarded by a business; supportive and tactical has been replaced by valued strategic partner with a significant contribution to make. I’m proud to have been part of that evolution and continue to watch and participate with interest as it continues to evolve and respond to an ever changing landscape.
Most of my career has been spent across the financial services sector, from personal and corporate banking to wealth management, family office to corporate Insurance (including Lloyd’s of London syndicates). This has involved working in small start-up insurance companies all the way of to large multinational banks, and everything in between! I’ve loved and thrived on this variety and learnt how to adapt my style and approach to be relevant to each audience and environment. I’ve also established people functions from scratch on two occasions.
I’m particularly interested in driving and supporting major change initiatives including M&A activity, restructures, and cultural change. I’ve been fortunate enough to work on such initiatives all over the world and with many different partners both internally and externally.
All my roles have been broad in nature and more latterly strategic, including ExCo membership. My HR experience has included specialist roles such as talent, reward and payroll but I guess my sweet spot is as a generalist partnering business leaders where I’m regarded as a trusted adviser.
I’m keen to continue using my skills to support businesses in achieving their commercial and people related goals.

I’m the Founder of MARA – we believe presence unlocks performance and it’s the key to performing at your best and feeling your best. I’m an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Staffordshire University supporting entrepreneurs and startups to grow with purpose. I also previously co-founded Sanctus, where we pioneered making mental health support accessible to workplaces across the UK.
I’m passionate about helping people, teams and organisations to unlock their potential and I’m excited to bring that ethos into everything we do at HEX.

I’m in charge of operations at HEX , making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes so our team and clients can thrive.
I began my career as a police officer, driven by a deep commitment to helping others and making a meaningful impact. That experience sharpened my ability to stay calm under pressure, empathise with people from all walks of life, and handle complex situations with clarity, skills I now bring to my work at HEX.
I’ve also led community and content for a running club, where I championed wellbeing and connection. Whether it’s supporting individuals or building systems that empower teams, I’m energised by creating environments where people can do their best work.
At HEX, I work closely with our founder, Tom, to keep our strategy, operations, marketing, and events aligned and flowing.
Outside of work, you’ll find me running or out on a walk with my dog, Rufus.

I make sure that working with HEX is a smooth and rewarding experience.
I have spent my entire career working in Executive Assistant roles and am passionate about planning, organisation, and efficiency. For many years, I worked for HSBC in Sheffield where I looked after senior leaders from across the UK and Europe IT estates.
I pride myself in ensuring that everyone who works with HEX has a frictionless experience and that our clients are kept informed and happy.
When I’m not supporting HEX you’ll find me looking after my granddaughter or walking my dog (rain permitting!).
Nigel Hall

Nigel Hall Operations Support
I work behind the scenes to ensure HEX’s operations run effectively.
I trained as a teacher and have a passion for learning and nurturing people to reach their full potential in life and work. I ensure that everything HEX-related works seamlessly in the background. I help look after our team of associates and ensure they have everything they need to provide excellence for clients.
My 15 years as a primary school teacher gave me patience, empathy, and organisational skills, which come in useful in supporting the interesting and complex work that HEX delivers.
I am also a writer and have written several novels. My short stories have won multiple prizes and feature in a number of published anthologies.
When I’m not supporting HEX or writing, you’ll find me walking our labrador, Harold.
